The beginning of the end
Coming to The Albany in London's West End in February, The Event is Leila Johnston's "series of preparatory meetings ahead of the 2012 apocalypse."

The proposition of Leila's events is based on the now-well-recognised prophecies of the Mayans - and others - that the world will end in 2012. If that's the case, then hopefully we can get this event snuck in before the planetary shit goes down.
Lots of lovely people are scheduled to appear. They include Daniel Nye Griffths, Sarah Dobbs (of Den of Geek fame), UEA history scholar Dr Ralph Harrington, physics teacher Alby Reid, and novelist Naomi Alderman, whose physical / virtual game project Run Zombies Run was explained in glorious detail recently at Publish!, an event for the publishing industry supported by our sister brand Perera.
Anyway, assuming that the end of the world won't happen quite yet (we have the Olympics to get out of the way, at least), tix and info are here.
