Samsung Digital Art Prize comes to a head
The first Samsung Art+ Prize awards are about to be announced, by judges and by You The Viewers.

With the works showcased at the BFI until this evening, the awards are being announced tomorrow. The winner of the public vote receives a Samsung "Series 8 Smart TV", a beast which we only hope that they have space for.
The shortlisted artists are:
- Aura Satz: Spiral Sound Coil
- Doug Fishbone: Elmina (Fight)
- Erika Tan: The Syntactical Impossibility of Approaching with a Pure Heart
- Hiraki Sawa: Did I?
- Iain Forsyth & Jane Pollard: Walking After Acconci (Redirected Approaches)
- Lucky PDF: TV, Ruth Beale on set
- Neil Cummings: Ms Chan
- Semiconductor: Magnetic Movie
- Thomson & Craighead: A short film about War
- Torsten Lauschmann: Digital Clock
The competition, which claims to be the "UK's first digital media art competition" (really?) is split into two prizes. The main prize is selected by a panel of judges, with the telly going through an additional prize - the Samsung Art+ Prize Audience Award, decided by the public.
There's more info over at Samsung's website, and we'll communicate the winners as soon as we know.
