Up with the Assange

"So, tell me, Vladimir - if I may call you that - WHAT MAKES YOU TICK?"

This and other golden moments are likely to be featured in a new chatshow series which Julian Assange is hosting for English-language Russian news station Russia Today, available on all of the digital platforms in the UK.

The press release doesn't give much away, least of all the guests:

Cyberspace's ("Cyberspace"? What is this, 1995?) most famous activist, Julian Assange, is launching his own talkshow, to be broadcast exclusively on RT. The program, written and hosted by the founder of whistle-blowing site Wikileaks, will focus on his favorite topic: controversy.

""Assange to record TV series for RT while under house arrest – I am sure it will be an amazing show!" RT's editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan posted on her Twitter ("On her Twitter"?) on Wednesday. ""I've never waited for a show on RT with such excitement."".

Clearly RT has excused Assange's earlier interest in Russia, and we hope that "controversy" doesn't turn into a cliché. Will there be a sofa? A backing band?

All will be revealed - something that Assange is rather good at.
