(In)famous punky political performance group Pussy Riot are aiming to turn their experiences into a theatre project, to be staged in London later in the year.

Branded a "wild theatrical experience", Inside Pussy Riot will initially be set in the solitary confinement cells that Nadya Tolokonnikova and co occupied after the 2012 arrest that made their name. The narrative then takes the participant "deep into the vaults of the Kremlin itself", and expect a heavy criticism of Putin and his friends. As Nadya says, "This is an important project that has immense educational value, especially given the trying times in which we are living and an increasingly scary political world order. If we do it right, the production is set to be mind-blowing."

Nadya is using Kickstarter to raise funds for the production, which is in association with theatre company Les Enfants Terribles. With 7 days to go, pledging is only £3.5k short of its £60k target, so it's looking good.

It's definitely going to be an experience; as show producer Alexandrina Markvo says, "Our goal is not just to create a breakthrough piece of theatre, but to develop something that can promote the cause of human rights protection, educate people about the problems in Russian legal and judicial processes and give audiences an idea of how fragile our seemingly safe society actually is." That's certainly true, and let's hope that Trump and Kim haven't bombed us to oblivion before the show's scheduled performance in November.
